I enjoy a good Android widget, particularly those that complement the clean and polished Material look. For months, the Pixel Tablet has had access to a useful Google Clock timer widget, which I would almost certainly use if it was available on my phone. Now it appears that my wishes may come true.
According to 9to5Google, Android 15 QPR2 will introduce the Google Clock Timer Starter widget to more devices than only Google’s tablet. The widget provides users with a list of their most frequently used timer spans and a plus button. Tap it to choose a certain duration in the Clock app.

Notably, the widget has astonishing elasticity. It may be sized to fit numerous gaps on your home screen, ranging from 1×1 to full screen. Several shape possibilities are available, ranging from a larger rectangle to a small oval with a single timer option.
This widget is quite useful for individuals who rely on the Clock timer on Android. You no longer need to manually navigate the Clock app to set a timer, making it an ideal home screen option for home cooks, bakers, and Pomodoro enthusiasts. You can bet it’ll become part of my larger home screen experience.
Unfortunately, the widget is not currently widely available. You’ll need Google Clock version 7.12, which is currently unavailable on the Play Store (you can only get version 7.10), as well as the most recent version of Android 15, which is only accessible on a few devices. Nonetheless, keep an eye out for the new widget to appear on your device in due course.
