Google has recently begun rolling out the customisable shortcut button for their search widget, which was initially noticed in September last year. It provides easy access to vital resources such as translation, dictionaries, financial updates, and song search. Currently, you can only customise the shortcut to launch a single tool. However, Google may make it more adaptable in a future version.

Google is already working on a new design for the search widget’s shortcut button, which will relocate it from within the search bar to a separate circle to the right. We initially saw the revamped design late last year, but Google appears to have some more improvements in the works. According to fresh strings of code discovered in the most recent Google app beta release (version 16.4.35.sa.arm64 beta), the shortcut button may soon provide access to all accessible tools.

Google Search Widget Shortcuts Update.
We enabled the new “Multi Shortcuts” option ahead of the deployment, as shown in the attached screenshots, which changes the shortcuts icon with a new app grid icon. Tapping on this new shortcut button opens a bottom sheet including all of the tools, making it far more helpful than it is now. The video posted below shows it in action.
This new Multi Shortcuts option is not yet available in the current Google app update, but we anticipate that it will be added shortly because it appears to perform as expected. We’ll update this post as soon as it gets to users.
