Here is a list of some of my favorite keyboard shortcuts for Windows and Mac computers.

Keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive list of all the shortcuts available; they are simply those that I use on a regular basis.

Also, keep in mind that these keyboard shortcuts are only for general use. They may or may not be compatible with specific computer programs or applications. Before attempting any shortcuts, it’s best to consult your user manual.

You should be aware of the following…

  1. Ctrl + A – Select All (files In a folder or Text in a document)
  2. Ctrl + B – Bold (Text in a document)
  3. Ctrl + C – Copy (files In a folder or Text in a document)
  4. Ctrl + F – Find (files In a folder or Text in a document)
  5. Ctrl + I – Italic (Text in a document)
  6. Ctrl + K – Insert a hyperlink (Text in a document)
  7. Ctrl + N – New workbook / New Document in a text app / program
  8. Ctrl + O – Open (a file, a folder or Text in a document)
  9. Ctrl + P – Print (a document)
  10. Ctrl + S – Save (a document)
  11. Ctrl + U – Underlined (Text in a document)
  12. Ctrl + V – Paste (a file, a folder or Text in a document)
  13. Ctrl W – Close (a file, a folder or Text in a document)
  14. Ctrl + X – Cut (a file, a folder or Text in a document)
  15. Ctrl + Z – Cancel / Undo
  16. F7 – Spell Check (Text in a document)

The above shortcuts are default and may work differently if you are using any other different computer program or different operating system like APPLE, LINUX or UBUNTU or if you have custom configurations of your computer system.
